Siempre Tequila: Always a Reason to Celebrate
Arc Liquor is proud to shine a spotlight on Siempre Tequila, a handcrafted Mexican spirit that celebrates heritage, artistry, and perseverance. Born from passion and perfected through patience, Siempre transforms 100% Blue Weber agave into tequilas that embody both tradition and innovation.
Siempre Tequila's bottles are adorned with hand-drawn roses, symbolizing the brand's rise from adversity. Founded by Monica Sanita and Alex Lacroix, Siempre Tequila was born from a bold dream and a maxed-out credit card. In 2015, the duo quit their day jobs and risked a mere $9,000 (and some serious chutzpah on a credit line) to start a tequila brand from scratch. The name Siempre means “always” in Spanish – as in “always a reason to celebrate” – a nod to the founders’ philosophy of embracing every high and low life throws our way. In fact, the roses on Siempre’s label (a request from Monica’s mezcal-making grandmother: “no skulls on the bottle, please”) represent “beauty born from struggle,” a reminder that great things can bloom from hard times. From these scrappy beginnings and family inspirations, Siempre has grown into an international tequila darling, proving that “Celebrity Not Required” to make a splash in the tequila world.
From Agave to Glass: Crafting Tequila the Siempre Way
Making exceptional tequila isn’t about shortcuts – and Siempre’s production is as thoughtfully engineered as a classic car restoration. The founders drew on Monica’s Mexican agave heritage (her grandmother and great-grandmother still craft mezcal by hand and even send samples in old Coke bottles!) to ensure they did things the right way. That means starting with 100% Blue Weber agave harvested at peak maturity from rich Jalisco soil. The piñas (agave hearts) are slow-roasted in traditional stone ovens, not flash-cooked in industrial autoclaves. Once mashed (via good old-fashioned roller mills), the agave juice is fermented using a quirky “Mozart Method” – yes, they literally serenade the yeast with classical music – alongside a special blend of rum and champagne yeasts to coax out complex flavors. After a gentle double distillation in copper pot stills (no diffusers or turbo techniques here), the tequila that emerges is pure, smooth, and brimming with character.
